I purchased the chin up bar to go along with the P90X program. I am 6'7 and 250lbs. I am able to hang from the doorway and do the pull-ups. Assembly of the chin up bar is given by directions that a cave man could do (which is the problem lol...) it's all pictures and not helpful. There is a review that says it's hard on the doorway, putting it together wrong will damage your doorway surely. Pay close attention to assembly, look at the wall when you put it up and if you see metal rubbing against plaster - the rest should go without saying, so I won't say it.

The biggest issue I had with the chin up bar was finding a doorway that I could use it in. My house has walls close to the doorway, which made it impossible to use in all but one doorway. This is what I would say the concern needs to be when buying this product. Fortunately I have a laundry room next to my son's room that opens and allows me to hang it up. Yes, I could have hung it up on the oppsite of the doorway, but that happened to be the side the door hinges are on, keeping me from donig that.

The bars hold my 250lbs. it says it can go up to 300lbs. but I question that, I don't think I would recommend it for anyone over 265lbs. as my 250 "FEELS" like it is pushing the limit. Nothing bad has happened as of yet, so you never know.

If you have the room in your doorways - my suggestion is to go for it and buy this product.

This chin up bar works like it should, the price was reasonable, and shipping was fast. The only thing you should beware of is that I'm 180 lbs., and this thing doesn't show the door jambs a lot of mercy. I've added extra padding, and will still have to repaint it. Maybe I'm using it wrong, but it is pretty straight forward.

I was going to buy the Iron Gym Extreme Edition, but found that it would not fit my doors (glad I measured before I ordered). Luckily, I found this pull-up bar, as it was supposed to fit larger door frames and cost about the same. The reviews seemed good, so I gave it a shot.

After using it for a month, I could not be happier with it. It is a cinch to set up and take down. I don't use the brackets included, but it still seems very sturdy. I'm not at all worried about it falling off the door. I weighed 250lbs. when I first started using the bar so I can't speak to the 300lb. weight limit. However, as I said it is very sturdy and not once have I felt unsafe.

As other reviewers have said, it requires some assembly, and comes with no tools. I put it together with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Easy peasy, done in about 20 minutes.

The only other thing worth mentioning is that it does leave small black marks as some have said. They're hardly noticeable (I don't), but they are there.

All in all, great product.

I use the bar for chin ups and push ups. It's sturdy and well made. Put the time in and you'll get stronger. I'm a 60 year old woman, and though I use a chair for assisted chin ups I still am getting a stronger back and arms.

This order was suppose to arrive on 4 Jan. Since I am in Kuwait I knew it would take longer. As of 21 Feb it has yet to show up at the post Office. Normal delivery time is 2-4 weeks. I sent one email informing Amazon of it not arriving and nothing, so I thought try this and see if anyone responds are just deletes the review or does nothing to rememdy the situation of an article being paid for and not delivered by Amazon to the customer.
